i used the exposure and glow effect to flash out the ending. i like this effect and think it gives the feel of an end of a concert with a big flash light.

colour tones

i have used some different colour tones for the video in certain areas here are the results. i thought i would of rathered more of a bright colour as its going with my DJ video, and it would of gone along side well with the lighting. but after playing around with some different colours i am sure that a darker colour looks much better, the black and white looks good and i like the contrast between that and the glowing effect.

Class Crit

i have had some feedback from my crit and its helped to give me more of an idea of what want. i think im going to bypass the idea of using lighting effects. i want everything to have a strong contrast and i want to look at adding tones into the video. i don't want there to be a single tone of colour throughout the video i am looking to just add it in, in different parts and where i think it will look good.

After Affects

i have started using after effects and adding it to my video, i want to try things out and get confident with using after effects.

The Glow Effect



i am using this when lights appear in the video so it reflects off them and brightens up the screen.






i am enjoying using after effects but finding it frustrating in many ways. i am not sure if i am able to achieve the exact results i want, i also need to get a plugin and i am finding it hard t find the right one.

Sound done

this is my final edit with sound. i have used some sounds from the original video and some from websites and some of my own recordings. i have used three bits from songs which have scratching in it and i think they go really well with the video. as its a form of music i thought that it would work and sound good with the scratching parts in it and i am confident its successful.

this sound is the recording of me plugging headphones into my amp with the levels turned up high to get a big feed back sound.

sound effects

i have been looking at these website to get the right sounds for my video. alot of the sounds are very artificial and havent been exactly what im looking for. luckily alot of my sounds in my recording are good enough for me to use in the video, but some of them are out of place and wont work with the rest of the videos.

more videos

here im just looking at some more DJ videos to see in what ways they use light. the first one is well contrasted and shot on a very high res camera, its very professional and well filmed. the second is a live video of daft punk, in this you see great lights and its very fast. you cant see the DJs that well but the lights are a great show so keeps it enjoyable. the third is of the DJs Justice and its a close up video so you can see more of what they are doing.

AE

i want to start to think about adding effects to my edit. but first i need to learn some. the effect i am looking for is using light streaks, but hopefully not as plain and bold as that. i also will want to give the video really strong contrasts and and bold lighting. i want to use after affects to learn these techniques and add them to my video.

first edit.
this is the first edit i have made. i haven't done anything about the sound yet but i want to look into finding the best way of recording it and editing it in. i am sure there will be samples i can find on the internet so i will look into what will be the best way to record and add them in. i am pleased with the edit and the cuts of the video, and am sure to keep it like this and play around with everything.

Animatic

animatics are used to show the second outcome after the story boards are drawn. they are able to give the client a bit more of an idea of what will happen and of the progress. this is mine that i knocked up after learning a few techniques. i had trouble editing the layers in After affects to i have just simply used the transformation tools to make this short and first animatic.

computer resolution

these are the resolutions we will be using depending on which camera we will use.

my second idea is to film a friend djing. i like this idea because i can really try and focus on the audio and get that perfect, the audio for djing i think will sound really good especially if its for a quick film.

my first idea is too film a friend spray painting graffiti in a legal area. if i get lots of footage i am sure i can make it dramatic, and dynamic. i am not sure at this time how i will exactly add effects but after finishing editing i am sure i will be able to see what effects would work. i am also keen on learning after affects and adding them into this project.
